HAZWOPER Technician training for water production personnel

EHS Resource Group's

Schedule of Upcoming Courses!

Much of the training we offer is conducted on your site.  This allows us to tailor HAZWOPER training to your specific processes, facility and equipment.  Additionally, it reduces the cost to send a number of employees to another site for HAZWOPER training and it reduces disruption by keeping key personnel accessible for problems, emergencies or any crisis that might arise.

We do however, offer regular open-enrollment HAZWOPER training courses for those needing training for one or a few employees.

We will be offering the following OSHA HAZWOPER training opportunities in 2012.  These classes will be held in the Des Moines, Iowa area.  If you are interested in attending any of these HAZWOPER training classes, please e-mail us for a registration form.

We will be repeating our Combined HAZWOPER Training Course five times in 2012.  These classes will run from:
January 31-February 3
April 17-20
July 10-13
October 16-19
December 11-14

These will be combination classes tailored to accommodate a number of different groups including:

-Those from Household Hazardous Waste Regional Collection Centers needing 24 hours of initial HAZWOPER training

-Individuals needing 40-hour Hazardous Waste Site Worker HAZWOPER training

-Public or private emergency responders needing a HAZ MAT Technician level course

-Those needing eight-hour OSHA HAZWOPER refresher training

We have consistently gotten positive feedback on this combined course that includes  approximately 15-20 hours of hands-on HAZWOPER training with respiratory and chemical protective clothing, mitigation techniques, air monitoring instruments and a final course exercise.  We've organized the course in a four ten-hour day format to minimize participant cost and to lessen the impact on your staffing levels.

The agenda for the course is as follows:

HAZWOPER Training Day One:  Hazard and Risk Assessment; OSHA HAZWOPER regulations; obtaining, interpreting and applying chemical data; exposure impact and exposure routes

HAZWOPER Training Day Two:  Principles of chemical protection; levels of chemical protective clothing and level selection, principles of chemical resistance and protective clothing chemical resistance; medical surveillance; management of heat stress

HAZWOPER Training Day Three:  Incident command; respiratory protection selection, donning and checkout; chemical protective clothing donning, doffing and operations, decontamination

HAZWOPER Training Day Four:  Mitigation techniques; container familiarization; course tabletop and hands-on exercise

Those needing 24 hours of initial HAZWOPER training for their work at Household Hazardous Waste Regional Collection Centers will attend days One and Two and finish at noon on day Three.

Individuals needing refresher HAZWOPER training may select one or more of days One, Two or Three

The cost is as follows:

Entire 40-hour HAZ MAT/HAZWOPER training course: $750.00 if registration fee is received two weeks prior to the start of class.  $800.00 after that date.
