President of EHS Resource Group, Matt Woody-a provider of innovative and high quality HAZWOPER training for nearly twenty years

President of EHS Resource Group, Matt Woody served as Hazardous Materials Coordinator  and provided HAZWOPER training for a metropolitan fire department for seventeen years.  He and the 45-member Haz Mat Team he created and led has responded to literally hundreds of chemical releases of all shapes and sizes.  Train derailments, illegal drug labs, Superfund and other hazardous waste sites, major chemical facility fires, highway cargo tanker mishaps.  During his tenure with the fire service he worked with industrial design teams as a design consultant enforcing applicable codes and standards for chemical manufacturing, storage and handling installations.  He created a multi-faceted HAZWOPER training and response program that has become a template for many in both the public and private emergency response community.  Matt has authored HAZWOPER training texts for the National Fire Academy, International Association of Fire Fighters, National Fire Protection Association and developed instructional materials on topics ranging from ammonia emergency response, HAZWOPER operations training for transportation workers, preparing for bioterrorism, responding to fuel tanker emergencies and emergency care for chemically contaminated patients.  He is a past member of the National Fire Protection Association's Technical Committee on Hazardous Chemicals.  Since leaving the emergency services in 1999 he has continued to provide high quality guidance and support to both the public and private sector relative to chemical safety and HAZWOPER training.
